BizTalk Server 2013 R2 is finally here and it’s time to go through the fun/pain of upgrading environments and getting everything back into a working state all over again.
Last year I wrote a blog post about getting the SSO Application Configuration MMC to work with BizTalk Server 2013, seeing as Microsoft hasn’t published updated versions of the MMC for versions of BizTalk Server beyond 2010 (at least not that I know of). You’ll now find that if you install BizTalk Server 2013 R2 that you are going to face the same pain with this MMC again, even if you got it to work for BizTalk Server 2013.
Luckily the solution is very simple. Follow the suggestions in my previous blog post to update the SSOMMCSnapIn.dll.config file in the “C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Services\SSO Application Configuration” folder but this time set the newVersion number to 9.0.1000.0 instead. My working configuration file looks like the below.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <configuration> <runtime> <assemblyBinding xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1" appliesTo="v4.0.30319"> <dependentAssembly> <assemblyIdentity name="Microsoft.EnterpriseSingleSignOn.Interop" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" culture="neutral" /> <bindingRedirect oldVersion="18.104.22.168" newVersion="9.0.1000.0"/> </dependentAssembly> </assemblyBinding> </runtime> <appSettings> <add key="CompanyName" value="Datacom" /> </appSettings> </configuration>
